Amarnath Yatra is a very famous Pilgrimage Journey of North India every year this holy pilgrimage starts in the last week of June in the second week of August it closes. Situated on the elevation of 3888m above sea level this place is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is a very beautiful Natural Cave it is very big in shape inside this Holy Cave every year in winter time form the Snow Lingam of Lord Shiva. It can only possible to visit in monsoon season when snow melted in high altitude. There are two treks is leading towards Holy Amarnath Cave first trek is stars from Pahalgam the first Base Camp from here three to four days required to visiting Amarnath Cave. Second trek starts from Baltal the second Base Camp from here with in a day Journey completed of holy Amarnath Cave this is the most favorable route to visit Amarnath. Indian Army is controlling the whole Yatra from Jammu up to Amarnath and back. Due to high altitude trek of Himalaya journey registrations and medical certificate is must for everyone without it Journey not possible beyond Baltal or Pahalgam. One has to follow the rule and regulations of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to protect this highly sensitive Himalayan Zone. All waste material must be placed in nearest dustbin must respect the environment and do nothing to pollute it. One has to be physically and mentally fit all kinds of safety stuff required like waterproof trekking shoes, adequate woolen clothing, windcheater, raincoat, jacket, torch, walking stick, monkey cap, waterproof trousers, gloves, woolen socks. These items are essential as the climate is highly unpredictable and changes abruptly fall to 5 degree Celsius or lower for ladies Salwar Kameez, pant-shirt or a tracksuit will be better Ladies who are more than 6 week pregnant shall not be allowed for pilgrimage. Keeping in view the tough nature of the trek children below 13 years in age and persons above the age of 75 years shall not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage. Always travel in group do not trek alone on your return journey you must leave the Base Camp along with all members of your group. In case any member of your group missing you must seek immediate assistance of the Police and also have an announcement made on the Public Address System.
